Alexandra Summach, originally from Dodsland, Saskatchewan, embarked on her musical journey at the age of seven. She has her RCM Grade 8 in piano and theory. She is currently working towards a Bachelor of Music at the University of Regina. Alexandra is passionate about music theory and the history of composition. She also brings a wealth of tutoring experience to her teaching repertoire. She is a dedicated educator with a mission to instill a profound appreciation for the intricacies of theory and composition in the hearts and minds of her students. Alexandra teaches both video and in-studio piano lessons at the Regina store. Her rate is $25 per half-hour.
Ava Daradich (Piano)

Ava Daradich first began taking piano lessons at Long & McQuade at the age of five. She has her RCM 8 in piano as well as her RCM 8 theory and is currently working towards a Bachelor of Music Education at the University of Regina. In addition to piano, Ava also plays many other instruments like concert percussion and baritone sax. She is passionate about many types of music such as classical, jazz, and other contemporary styles, as well as arranging and composing her own pieces. Ava teaches piano at the Regina store. Her rate is $25 per half-hour.
Avery Hesse (Piano)

Avery Hesse has been a student of Long and McQuade for over ten years. She has been studying piano for many years and holds her RCM level 8 for piano and theory. Avery enjoys a wide range of classical repertoire as well as more contemporary styles of music from video games, movies, and various internet media. She also enjoys popular music along with arranging. Avery has consistently participated in recitals and music festivals during her piano studies. She looks forward to sharing her enjoyment of music with her students. Avery teaches piano at the Regina store. Her rate is $25 per half-hour.
Ben Redant (Piano, Voice)

Ben Redant has worked previously in the world of professional theatre and music in Saskatchewan, performing and working on shows across Saskatchewan for such theatres as the Globe Theatre in Regina, Persephone Theatre and Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, and Souris Valley Theatre in Estevan. Ben performed in casts onstage and as a musician, musical directed, composed, and even worked as a scenic painter in the world of theatre before eventually finding his place and steady work as a music teacher at Long & McQuade.
After spending the better part of seven years teaching piano and voice for Long & McQuade, Ben worked as the Lesson Coordinator for much of 2023 before deciding he missed teaching too much, and has returned to the teaching side of things at Long & McQuade. He looks forward to contributing more directly to students’ musical journeys through his talents, energy, and positivity. While classically trained, Ben has a great love for ragtime, early jazz, musical theatre, classic rock, and movie, television and video game soundtracks.
Ben teaches piano and voice at the Regina store. His rate is $28 per half-hour.
Brenda Stettner (Piano)

Brenda Stettner is a certified elementary and intermediate specialist through the Royal Conservatory of Music. She has been teaching piano, organ, and guitar since 1980. Brenda has experience with MIDI and multi-track recording, she composes and arranges music for herself and her students, and she prepares students for Royal Conservatory examinations and music festivals. Brenda believes in continuous learning and professional development, and is always looking for new ways to teach concepts in private lessons and master classes. Her unique teaching approach has motivated students to become teachers, recording artists, composers, and to generally enjoy making music. Brenda’s students benefit from her lineage, a 3rd generation student of Beethoven. Brenda teaches piano at the Regina store. Her rate is $29 per half-hour.
Danielle Ulatan (Piano)

Danielle Ulatan began playing piano at Long & McQuade at the young age of five. She is a graduate of Luther College High School and currently attends the University of Regina for studies in Pre-Law. For the duration of her high school career, she involved herself in the Luther music program. Danielle participated in her school's band as a flutist. She was also a member of the Luther College Girls Choir, Senior Choir, and Advanced Vocal Ensemble (AVE). Danielle loved to involve herself in music based extra-curricular activities, such as Luther's annual musicals. Throughout her studies in piano, Danielle has participated in many annual concerts, recitals, and even achieved distinction for orchestral piano in the Long & McQuade Music Festival. She is currently working on advanced levels of Royal Conservatory Piano. She looks forward to teaching students and hopes to help them find a passion for music. Danielle teaches piano at the Regina store. Her rate is $25 per half-hour.
Erika Krahn (Piano)

Erika Krahn began her studies in classical piano at the tender age of five, beginning with lessons at home with her mother. As her skill and interest increased, she soon enrolled in private lessons at the Conservatory of Performing Arts. During this time, Erika actively participated in Music Festival, where she would be awarded first place in various individual and duet pieces over the years. As she continued classical training, she also began to play keyboards for her church bands, learning to follow chord charts and play by ear. In 2007, she passed her examinations to achieve Level 8 certification in Classical Performance in Piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music with Grade 2 Theory. After graduating from university in 2015, Erika moved to China for five years, where she taught school full time and offered private piano lessons. She also volunteered making musical arrangements for her school’s high school choir. After taking a few years to be at home with her young children, Erika is now looking forward to returning to teaching and sharing her love of piano with new learners of all ages. Erika teaches piano at the Regina store. Her rate is $27 per half-hour.

Her rich musical background includes experiences with the Juventus Choir and SYC Choir, highlighting her versatility in choral settings. Additionally, she shares a profound connection with music in a familial context, often singing with her 3 sisters and playing piano, reflecting a lifelong dedication to the arts. Grace is currently completing her education degree at the University of Regina, specializing in K-5 education, Grace seamlessly integrates her musical talents with her commitment to nurturing young minds. Jayme Kelln began her musical career at the age of 5, studying piano and singing for the Juventus choir. Jayme holds an RCM level 6 and 8 in piano as well as her grade 6 and 8 theory. Jayme is currently a student of the Luther College High School. Since her enrollment, she has involved herself heavily in the Luther music program. Jayme is a member of the Luther College Girls Choir, Senior Choir, and currently is the accompanist for both choirs. Jayme has been involved in many recitals, performances, and annual concerts throughout her childhood and high school years. Jayme has grown fond of classical works, and looks forward to bringing her expertise and skills with the repertoire to our students. Jayme teaches piano at the Regina store. Joshua Tumala (Piano)

Joshua Tumala's musical journey began at a young age when he was first introduced to music by his family, which led him to develop a keen interest in all kinds of music. Joshua enjoys learning and teaching classical music, jazz, contemporary and video game pieces, music from different countries around the world, and adding his own touch to music through arranging. Joshua holds an RCM level 8 in piano, was a past Gold Medal recipient (highest mark in the province), and continues to expand on his practical and theoretical knowledge. He actively performs in recitals and music festivals and has won numerous awards and scholarships over the years. After starting as a substitute teacher with long & McQuade, Joshua has joined our team on a regular basis, becoming a highly sought-after instructor. He is fluent in both Filipino and English, and can teach music lessons in both languages. His rate is $25 per half-hour.
Kristine Beer (Piano, Group Piano)

Kristine Beer has her Grade 9 Royal Conservatory Piano and holds a Distinguished Teacher/Examiner Award in popular piano teaching. She is a professional accompanist for vocalists and instrumentalists, and has over thirty-five years of teaching experience. She is an examiner, clinician, adjudicator, and has trained many piano teachers. She has co-written and piloted programs for pre-school children and primary piano students. She also enjoys performing and is currently the church pianist at St. James United Church. Kristine specializes in group instruction and teaching young beginners, as well as preparing senior students for examinations and music festivals. Kristine teaches piano at the Regina store. Her rate is $29 per half-hour.

Lisa Nickerson has over 25 years of experience teaching children and adults, both private and group lessons. She has advanced certification in organ (Grade 7 Conservatory Canada - formerly Western Board of Music), and piano (Royal Conservatory of Music Level 9). She has experience with arranging popular and jazz music as well as creating electronic music arrangements. Lisa focuses on many different aspects of music and includes theory, sight-reading, ear-training, history, classical and pop music in lessons to give her students a well-rounded approach to learning piano. She enjoys incorporating pieces that her students choose as well to help foster a connection to music with each student. Mandy Ubell (Voice, Piano, Composition, Songwriting)

Mandy Ubell holds both a Vocal Performance Diploma, and a Music Production/Engineering Diploma from Selkirk Music College in Nelson, BC. She values the importance of obtaining a strong vocal foundation, including diaphragm breathing and control, proper tone placement, broadening one’s vocal range from low to high notes, pitch correction, vibrato, projection techniques and proper vowel enunciation. Mandy has obtained advanced levels in classical piano and theory with the Royal Conservatory of Music. While encouraging piano students to play what they love, she also tries to open up their ears and minds to trying new genres, while incorporating music theory and history. Mandy has also pursued song-writing and has won multiple National and International awards for her original music. Additionally, she offers guidance on song-writing and provides a mentor approach to her teaching style, which is especially helpful for those up-and-coming artists who are looking to break into the music industry. Nina Maxwell (Piano, Theory, Harmony)

Nina Maxwell is a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified teacher for elementary and intermediate piano. She holds her Grade 9 Piano, and Theory and History/Harmony Grades 9 and 10 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. She continues to expand her knowledge and credentials and is currently studying for her Grade 10 Piano and Elementary Piano Pedagogy through the RCM.
Nina has over thirty years of teaching experience with students ranging from the very young to retired seniors. Her specialties include exam preparation (classical, popular, and theoretical) and helping special needs students to achieve success. Nina is listed as a recommended teacher for special needs children with the Autism Resource Centre in Regina. Over the years, many of Nina's students have received outstanding marks on examinations and music festivals, including for a recent Royal Conservatory practical examination session, several Distinction and First Class Honors results, and 2 gold medal winners for the highest mark in the province! Nina has also attended many workshops and seminars on handling stress and uses the Brain Gym techniques as additional learning tools. She is also the accompanist for the Circle of Friends Ladies Choir.

He holds theory certificates with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and is working toward advanced levels with the Royal Conservatory of Music. He is a church organist and choir director. Seye has accompanied his church choir for performances and has accompanied his choir students who have achieved excellence in their examinations and competitions. He also plays the trumpet, violin and clarinet. Seye teaches piano at the Regina store. His rate is $26 per half-hour.

Tia Gibson (Piano)

Tia Gibson believes that all people are capable of learning music and she thoroughly enjoys walking through the learning process with her students. She has earned her Level 8 Royal Conservatory of Music certification, with First Class Honors. She has also participated in many music festivals and earned several 1st and 2nd place awards, including one for original composition and one for quick study. Tia has more than 5 years of experience teaching students of varying ages and abilities and is known for her warmth, care and patience. Tia has taught over 200 beginner pianists to effectively read piano sheet music. Although Tia now resides with her family in Calgary, she continues to offer online lessons for L&M students. Her rate is $26 per half-hour.
